About Our School
Joyous English School is a Nursery-to-Higher-Secondary institution on Varachha Road, Surat — one of the first English-medium schools on Varachha Road. It was established on 10th April 1979 as the Nursery K.G. English School to commemorate the International Children’s Year 1979, under the patronage of Mrs. J. F. Izzy, whose contributions and guidance set successive milestones as the primary, secondary and higher-secondary sections were established in 1981, 2002 and 2011 respectively. The school is run by the Ebam Trust.
By the grace of Allah and the Dua Mubarak of His Holiness Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (R.A.) and the 53rd His Holiness Dr. Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin Saheb (T.U.S.), the school has completed 47 colourful and glorious years and continues to flourish in every direction — a fruit of the blessings of our spiritual leaders.
Our Journey
1979 — Nursery K.G. English School founded on 10th April to commemorate the International Children’s Year, under the patronage of Mrs. J. F. Izzy.
1981 — Joyous Primary English School established (Classes 1–4).
2002 — Joyous Secondary English School established (Classes 5–8).
2011 — Joyous Higher Secondary English School established (Senior Secondary).
A Legacy in Our Community
Founded to be “a step ahead of others”, Joyous English School has educated generations of children from kindergarten through higher secondary — a community school, located behind Yash Plaza near Rajhans Point on Varachha Road in Surat, where knowledge, discipline and care come together under one roof.
The school fondly remembers the sweet memories of late Mrs. Jumana F. Izzy and the lifelong guidance of late Syedi Mukasir Saleh Bhaisaheb, whose advice continues to inspire us every day.
Our Mission
The main goals of Joyous English School are to: educate students for future success; promote academic excellence and equity for a diverse population of students within the public education system; and provide a choice of educational opportunities within a public school system for parents, students, and educators.
